We have previously posted about our familiarity with the special advice from the Building Research Establishment which has supplemented the historic British Standard on daylight/sunlight (BRE guidelines Site Layout Planning for Daylight and Sunlight – A guide to good practice 2011).
This month sees the publication of a brand new National Design Guide. It illustrates how well-designed places that are beautiful, enduring and successful can be achieved in practice through the use of the ten characteristics shown in the image below.
